"I vividly remember the first time I saw a Kids’ Directory.  It was a hot summer evening and I was having ice cream with my family at a local ice cream shop.  I flipped through the pages and instantly fell in love with the product.  I was even more excited to see there was an advertisement for a part time sales rep with the publication.  I looked at my husband and said I want to do this!  He wasn’t as excited about it as I was, but all the way home I couldn’t stop thinking about working for this directory.  I had been ‘just’ a stay at home mom for many years and having a 7, 5, and 1 year old didn’t make for the most ideal work environment, but the business woman in me wanted this!  I immediately went home, put together a resume and e-mailed it to the publisher.  She called me back and I convinced her I was made for this position.  I began working immediately and was having so much fun.  A few months went by when the owner said she was looking to sell the business.  My heart sank.  I didn’t want to stop working; I loved what I was doing and enjoyed every minute.  I was devastated.  I went to my husband and begged him to allow us to purchase this magazine.  Again, he wasn’t as excited as I was, but knew it meant a lot to me.  In February 2009, we became the owners of the North GA Kids’ Directory.

The experience has been more than I could have ever imagined!  My children are now 8, 6, and 2 and I have the flexibility of working hours when I want to work.  I have made a difference in so many families lives in my community and have met so many wonderful people on this journey.  I can introduce myself as self-employed and can tell others I have my own business.  My children love handing out the directory in our community, especially when they are somewhere in the book or even on the cover.  I am proud of the publication and what it provides to my community.  I have always loved supporting moms and have been involved in many of the local mom groups and MOPS groups, so this is just an extension of that passion.  I celebrated the purchase of my publication by holding a community event at the local children’s museum.  Over 2,000 people were in attendance!  To say I was proud and touched is an understatement!  I have learned so much over the past few months and can’t wait to see where I am in many years to come.  I thank Hidden Values for giving me these opportunities and helping me grow in ways I never would have imagined!  I am more than ‘just’ a stay at home mom….I am a very proud and successful business owner!"
